Girly Camo

As you all know by now, my husband is an avid hunter. So...no big surprise that we got quite a bit of girly camo clothing for gifts. And, might I add, we loved all of it! But the most entertaining of the camo gifts would have to be a real camo onsie from Cabella's that we got from my friend Nick. He gave it to us when she was born and it came complete with lace attached to the collar, both legs, and the butt. Doug has been dying to put her in it since we got it.

We have been waiting....and waiting....and waiting for her to be big enough to fit into this thing...and the day has arrived! Much to Daddy's joy, Danika is in real camo today. :) Thought you would like to see the pictures. :)

In case you were wondering, that is Doug's coyote pelt that is keeping her company in the chair. She thinks it's soft...the cats are scared to death of it. :)

Josie's Announcement

My sister is sending out her birth announcement for my niece. I thought they turned out pretty cute. :) Just wanted to share.

Josephine Rose Hoffman

Josephine Rose Hoffman was born Thursday, February 7th in Toledo, Ohio. Everyone was healthy, my sister Joanie and her husband Cory were thrilled and it was killing me that I couldn't be there!

Doug and I were planning to drive to Detroit to see my new niece, but Joanie and Cory decided to come visit Cory's parents in Cleveland, so we met them there instead. Brock is adjusting to his new little sister already! He is becoming protective and can't stop kissing her head. It is so stinking cute! And Danika wasn't quite sure what to think...but she wasn't a big fan of her mom holding this other creature. :)

Welcome, little Josie! Your Aunt Andrea loves you!

Rubber Ducky, You're The One!

I love rubber duckies. I can't help it....I just find them to be adorable. I like little ones, and big ones, colored ones, yellow ones, any kind of ducky. I like ducky blankets and ducky jammies...I just love stuff with ducks on it!

So...it has apparently rubbed off on my daughter. For her birthday, Danika received from her Aunt Kristen a giant rubber ducky to put in the bath tub. Danika LOVES it! Everytime she takes a bath it is a required accessory. As soon as we put her in the water she reaches for it and hugs its neck. She will hold onto it and just love it to death. It cracks me up every time, so I thought I should take a picture.

Thank you, Aunt Kristen!

Ice and Chili

Daddy went Coyote hunting for the weekend, so Danika and I grabbed my friend Elizabeth and drove down to Franklin, PA for the annual Ice Carving Festival and Chili competition. It was SUCH a fun day!

Here's Danika and I with one of the ice sculptures.

Susan's Surgery

Doug's mom had surgery on Wednesday, February 6th. Doug, Danika and I were there for most of the day. While surgery is never fun, Susan did really well, there were no complications, and this went way easier than the major surgeries she has had in the past.

Susan was supposed to be able to go home that night, but they decided that she had to stay. They said if any complications developed, they wanted her already at the hospital, not 2+ hours away.

We had Danika with us, so we kind of "moved in" to the hospital room. :) You can see Danika and all her toys camped out on the oversized window ledge.

We are grateful to God for the way He has provided for our family and for the way He has protected Susan. Thank you to all who have prayed for us and for her....it is appreciated more than we could ever put into words. God has been so good to us over this four year journey...He has taught us so much, and He has continued to provide exactly what we need each step of the way. Thank you for your love and support!
